today was school photos. he woke early to reminds us, while we all lied still in bed, that he needed to get into the shower immediately. later he buttoned up his shirt all the way to the collar, brushed his hair in the mirror, and practised his smile. here we are on the eve of him turning seven, and before bed he did the funniest impersonation of mr. bean. i thought, this must be seven, the ability to have such self awareness and the ability to forget it exists. happy birthday beautiful boy.

ReplyDeleteSeven! Where did all those years go......I can remember him coming home from the hospital. That was a busy night for Michael and me with that little bundle of crying joy! Wishing you a day filled with wonderful memories and fun Quinn. He is getting that older look about him, growing up way to fast.

ReplyDeleteI remember touching down on the runway at Maui on our flight from Alaska. As soon as the wheels hit the tarmac I looked at the flight attendant who was sitting in a jump seat facing us. He immediately nodded his head up and down and I knew I could make a phone call. We learned that Quinn had been born while we were enroute over the Pacific Ocean somewhere between Seattle and Maui. JOYOUS NEWS.
